Another light weight one I find really useful is XAMPP.

It’s a simple little app (Single install) which sets up a standalone installation of PHP, Apache and http://FTP. This isn’t for commercial hosting, but rather for light weight local development. It’s ideal for students or beginners to get a taste of PHP. Takes a few secs to install. It’s available for windows or linux.

I know sound like a ad, but I find this little app really useful!!! Google xampp and you will find it.
